the meek shall inherit the earth ...

"On average, since the end of World War II, the United States
has carried out or participated in roughly one military invasion
of a foreign nation or territory every 20 months. It is the only
nation on Earth whose current generation has witnessed their
country's involvement in no less than 26 wars and direct military
confrontations around the globe."

The number of people, human beings, killed in, or as a result of, those "operations" - either directly by U. S. forces or at the direction of the U. S. government, exceeded at least a few years ago, if not earlier, the number of human beings slaughtered in The Holocaust, and that does not even begin to count those who continue to die from so-called "non-lethal warfare" weaponry.

U. S. "leadership" took a decision after World War II, at a time when the "industrial might" of the United States could have been used to benefit all peoples of the world and put an end to war, to instead continue to profit from sales of weaponry unused in the last big war, and to then continue profiting from development of new and more deadly weaponry in a program aimed at total control of world resources, which of course required total control of the people of the world - some of whom had potential to "go off in other directions" as they formed their own *true democracies* and planned to use their own natural resources within their own borders to benefit themselves, as anyone has the right to do.

That post-war "decision" has led us in this Twenty First Century into a position in which the United States government must now continue it determined effort to maintain *hegemony* - at ANY cost - because the alternative is the destruction of the United States of America as we have known it, physically and as a social system
- an outcome which, in my view, is today inevitable.

"The US and the Soviet Union during this time were engaged
in a game of chicken involving nuclear weapons that kept the
world on the brink of total annihilation."

That statement refers to the "leadership" of those two countries - not The People themselves - and The People of the United States are today largely unaware that Nikita Khrushchev, for all his apparent "shoe-thumping" as presented in U. S. media, attempted to hold back weapons proliferation within the Soviet Union so money could be spent on social needs and "peacetime" production needs, such as agriculture; however, continued pressure from U. S. and NATO forced Khrushchev to lose his argument with the Soviet military, and rather than be isolated, the USSR was forced to compete against a long series of trumped up "wars" initiated by U. S. agencies designed to "outspend" the USSR into submission, which was finally achieved, producing the richest opening for capitalist exploitation in the Twentieth Century, and the highest suicide rate Russia and Eastern European countries had ever seen, along with increasing deaths from starvation and disease rivalling prewar statistics for the region.

These are "accomplishments" for which many in the West point to with pride today, which, like quarterly corporate profits, belie the reality of our situation.

Thanks to President William Jefferson Clinton, who was sworn to "protect and defend" the Constitution of the United States of America at the time, for having done everything in his power to improve the accuracy and dependability of Chinese Long March rocketry, which previously had difficulty making it off launch pads, China is now able to destroy U. S. satellites which not only watch what everyone on this planet is doing 24 hours a day every day, but are capable of directing "instant response" to destroy "perceived threats" anywhere in the world without need of "troop insertion" which of course provides a wealth of security to people like you and me today, and a world you and I are most eager to see our children and grandchildren bring children of their own into, am I right ?
