Submitting Intel attributed to 'author unknown'
. In "Screen Intel" mode, I have twice found articles presented by the same individual which ended with a credit to "author unknown" If such a practice raises any issues in your own mind, I would be most pleased to receive your comments. Personally, I have decided to choose "0 - Fail [Reject]" from now on whenever I see "author unknown" and I will tell you why. You or I could spend whole days searching the Internet for unattributed articles and quotes, etc. and what would we accomplish in that process ? We would learn a good deal, and learning something new every day IS one of my own personal goals, so it would not be time wasted for me; however, my understanding of the rating procedures in Qassia are to give authors - content creators - feedback on the quality of *their own* work, and when an article is attributed to "author unknown" it is clearly NOT the product of the person posting that article. Any rating would be for the original (unknown) author's benefit only, and for me to rate the "unknown" content in the Qassia format would be only to rate the "provider's" ability to collect unattributed "intel" - am I wrong ? A person could accumulate a great wealth of credits for doing no creative work at all - just collecting "anonymous" entries from the Internet. Is that a fair practice ? I do not view the practice of sharing valuable information with others as wrong, or even a bad idea, but here we are on an "honour system" where others are asked to spend their own valuable time giving us feedback on what we personally create - the way I understand this system. Am I off base in my "understanding" do you think ? On further examination, I have found that I cannot "Fail" such a post because house rules require: _ You are allowed to reject intel only if it meets one or more of the following criteria. Please specify why you are rejecting this intel: Not in English Incomprehensible Pornographic About Qassia _ Leaves me in a pickle, eh ? . |
